Replacement of lighting lamps is termed “Replacement Work” not defined as ‘electrical work’, however CLS recognises that if not undertaken correctly, technicians or others could potentially be exposed to contact with live electrical components.
Procedures have been developed to establish safe work practices aimed at ensuring technicians are “electrically safe” and via limiting the scope of tasks to ensure that activities such as repairs, altering the integrity of equipment and wiring (electrical work) is not undertaken as part of replacement work. This procedure is applicable to all starter/globe/fluoro replacement work and is followed at all times.
As CLS are not electrician’s but we subcontract a fully licensed Electrical company should the need arise. Should we come across a lighting electrical issue, the client will be advised of the fault whereas they have the opportunity to engage their own electrical contracting company or have CLS arrange this. No electrical work is conducted without first submitting a quotation and is accepted by the client.
